Bainbridge Police announced today, January 10, that on Tuesday the 7th they arrested a fourteen-year-old Woodward Middle School student on four counts of burglary.
Police had been called to the school on the 4th when a staff member working on the weekend noticed two juvenile males in the hallway inside Eagle Harbor High School. When confronting them, he noticed that one had a lock-picking device in the door of one of the offices. He asked them to step into a nearby office with him, but they fled.
A Woodward staff member was later able to identify a Woodward student who matched the description of one of the burglars that had been given by the EHHS staff member. That staff member was asked to come to Woodward to see the student. He immediately identified him as the burglar.
When the student was detained, he admitted to entering the building unlawfully on three other occasions. He was arrested and taken to Kitsap County Juvenile detention for booking. Police are seeking his fifteen-year-old accomplice.
Police report that no items have yet been confirmed as stolen from the school.
