1. Family Movie Matinee: Chimpanzee

Why: This true story about chimp warfare is free.
2. Building a Sustainable Economy Lecture Series
When: Friday, 6-7:30 p.m.
Where: Bainbridge Public Library, 1270 Madison Ave. N .
Why: Friday’s presenter is Bob Willard who makes the business case for sustainability. Willard is the author of four books on business sustainability and had a 34-year creer at IBM in Canada. This free program is followed by a short reception.

3. Carbon Nation: Film Showing
When: Friday, 7:30-9:30 p.m.
Where: Bainbridge Public Library, 1270 Madison Ave. N .
Why: This movie has been called the best film on climate change. Get depressed for free, get sparked by a wee bit of hope when the film talks about solutions, and then enjoy refreshments.
4. Tellabration! Storytelling Workshop
When: Saturday, 11:30 a.m.-12:30 p.m.
Where: Bainbridge Island Museum of Art, 100 Ravine Lane NE
Why: Storytelling Workshop participants show off on the Museum stage.
5. Paper Products Renovation Open House
When: Saturday, 12-5 p.m.
Where: Paper Products, 256 Winslow Way E.
Why: Come see the new look and enjoy food, prizes, and giveaways.
6. Vaccine Information Panel Hosted by Open Mic Science
When: Saturday, 4 p.m.
Where: Bainbridge High School Commons
Why: We know from the community survey that many people feel confused and/or ambivalent about vaccinations. Here’s your chance to throw your questions at a panel of experts. Read more here and here

7. Bainbridge Ometepe Sister Island Association Annual Meeting/Potluck
When: Saturday, 6 p.m.
Where: Eagle Harbor Congregational Church Hall
Why: Find out what the Association has been doing all year and hang out with friendly people.

9. Kobo eReader Roll-Out

Why: Good news: You can use an eReader and not feel guilty about it. EHB has started selling eReaders and they even want to show you how to use them.
10. For Our Children Benefit Concert
When: Sunday, 4-6 p.m.
Where: Grace Episcopal Church, 8595 Day Road
Why: Support Helpline House in yet another way, this time by listening to jazz. Jazz pianist Anne Pell, guitarist Brian Chambers, bassist Ted Enderle, and drummer Rick Blumenthal will perform with their special guests the Fabulous Fenderskirts. Money raised will support Helpline’s Children Enrichment Fund, which provides resources for arts and music education in our community.
